Sensei Paul Farrer – Junior Instructor, Jersey Wado Ryu

Paul is a Junior Instructor with Jersey Wadu Ryu and is a 1st Dan (Shodan).

He began his journey in karate in his early 30s during a particularly challenging time in his life. He was searching for something to bring clarity, structure, and purpose—and what started as a way to regain control quickly became a life-changing passion. Starting later than most taught Paul a powerful lesson: it’s never too late to begin something new. He is living proof that with dedication and consistency, real growth is always possible—both in training and in life.

Karate has instilled in Paul a deep sense of discipline, respect, and resilience—qualities that have helped him grow not just as a martial artist, but as a person. It’s more than a sport; it’s a way of life that continues to shape who he am every day.

Outside of karate, Paul enjoys staying active and creative. He like to read, and write, and has recently become a published author. He also goes to the gym, builds scale models, and plays guitar. These hobbies help him stay balanced and inspired, always pushing himself to keep learning and evolving.
